Nicole Mitchell is a veteran teacher and administrator in the Midlands. Ms. Mitchell oversaw two schools, Congaree Wood Early Childhood Center and Herbert A. Wood Elementary School in Lexington School District Two. After serving as an assistant principal for both schools from 2008 to 2011, Ms. Mitchell was promoted to principal in 2011.
Ms. Mitchell taught at the elementary level in Virginia and Georgia during her career in education before moving to South Carolina to teach in Richland County School District Two.
Ms. Mitchell served as a classroom teacher and writing coach at both Joseph Keels Elementary and Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary in Columbia.
Some career highlights include her contribution toward Herbert A. Wood Elementary becoming a Title I School of Progress and Congaree-Wood Early Childhood Center earning Palmetto Gold. Ms. Mitchell also supervised the 1:1 tablet implementation at Congaree-Wood Early Childhood Center and Herbert A. Wood Elementary.
Ms. Mitchell received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University. She later earned a Master of Science in Human Resources Development from Troy State University and a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina.
